Vanguard Endeavor ED 10.5x45 Binoculars

HuntOnly Field Staff

Previously we tested Vanguards’ Spirit 10x42 Binoculars which is Vanguards' mid-level Binocular. We were highly impressed with their quality and performance, especially in the $200 price range. Recently we were able to test Vanguards top-level binoculars, the Endeavor ED 10.5x45mm.

Vanguard Endeavor ED Binoculars Right off the bat these Binoculars feel good, the rubberized coating gives a soft feel in your hands. This coating helps make the Endeavor ED binoculars waterproof, fogproof and slip resistant.

The Endeavor ED binoculars offer 3 levels of eyecup adjustment with notches at each level making them easy to quickly adjust in the field.

Now for the glass. These binoculars come with Extra-Low Dispersion Glass, or ED Glass. There is a bunch of technical information that goes with this, but what you need to know is that ED Glass gives the binoculars much sharper images with more contrast. With a side by side comparison to similar quality non-ED binoculars you can easily see the difference. I took these binoculars with me last month to Idaho and was very impressed with the image quality these binoculars provide. I watched elk and big horn sheep way up in the mountains from a boat on the river and could tell with detail the quality of the animals. They are durable enough to stand up to 10 days in the mountains, living in a tent camp and provided all the magnification necessary to know if a stalk was necessary.

Vanguard Endeavor ED Binoculars Another feature of the Endeavor ED Binoculars is the 10.5 power magnification and a 45mm objective lens. Most mid-sized binoculars are rated at 10 power and have a 42mm lens. That extra bit of light and power allow these binoculars to far outshine many others in the low-light playing field.

Overall I was thoroughly impressed with these binoculars quality and I think you’d be hard pressed to find a better binocular for the money. Even though Vanguard is new to the hunting optics world I would certainly consider them as a high level contender to the big names you already consider. They will be my personal binocular of choice this fall in the whitetail woods.
