You're best off getting an entry level longbow. This site has a wide selection of traditional archery equipment.

There is a couple sites you can find trad equipment for sale. I personally have bought two recurves off of stickbow . com.

To start the important thing is to not over bow yourself. If you draw 65lb with the compound then I would suggest a recurve/longbow in the 40 to 45lb range. No higher, trust me.

You want to be able to build solid form, release and follow thru. You don't want the weight of the bow on your mind while trying to build solid form with traditional. Trust me, even if your a accomplished compound shooter with years behind the string. If your overbowed all you will noticed during your practice is the screaming in your head to let go of the string.

Pick up a DVD or two. Masters of the Bare Bow is well worth it. And Google traditional achery and you will find a wealth of info. Good Luck. Its addicting as hell.

A PSE longbow is a good one to learn on. It's what I got my son for Xmas when he first started getting interested in hunting and archery ... x?a=394648
