Cylinder Bore Choke Turkey Hunting

This will be my first spring turkey hunting with a shotgun. I have a good blind and set my decoys a few feet in front of it. All of the turkeys I have taken were within 10-20 FEET or so with my bow. Do I really need to buy a turkey gun with all the bells and whistles and choke options or can use a more tactical fixed cylinder bore shotgun for the close shots I usually take? Has anyone taken a cylinder bore choke super close range turkey shot?

I would strongly recommend at least a modified choke when turkey hunting. You'll be shooting a small target that is standing still and you'll want to make sure you've done enough damage to the spine and brain to keep the bird grounded. Ever hear those horror stories of a bird getting up and running off after being shot? Just my opinion!

No you don't need a fancy shotgun, any gun will do. I've killed most of my birds with an 870 20 gauge! Good luck out there.
