Planting Food Plot with Little Land to Spare

Postby ChrtruseMajic » Mon Nov 15, 2010 5:41 pm

I was thinking about putting a couple food plots in next year. It is obviously too late to put any in now, but I have very limited space to put them in. I would say the biggest area I have to work with is about 30 square yards. Maybe a little bigger than that. It sits right amidst some oak trees. It would be a prefect spot, but I don't know if it would be worth the effort for such a small area of land. I think it would help pull some of the deer that are around the area into a pattern. What are y'alls thoughts on the matter? Thanks
Good Hunting,

Nobody has written anything on this topic and I would like a little input if you get a chance. I know it is too late to plant a food plot, but I would like to know some info about it for next season. Thanks

i dont know alot but a few things i do know is they say that if you plant a food plot you have to keep the deer out of it till the rood are established.. also they say something like 1 acre per 10 deer. something crazy like that. they say if you dont plant enought the deer will eat it to the bare ground and destroy the crop... and if you shop online and read the reviews of some of the food... it may help in the decision. they have stuff that grows in the shade, stuff that last 4 years stuff that is only a season... just all sorts of stuff out there... come spring i think we are going to try to plant some clover over at the airport...

Ok, well where should I look to read some of the reviews? Just to narrow my search.

I don't think you need to plant anything by the airport. It looks like you got things under control over there. haha
