Not real sure on that particular caliber but I would think it should do fine.

I have shot a 223 for some time. If you go with full metal jackets... the pelts are still usable. I was using a 22mag. around the houses at night... less noise. I purchased a 17 HMR. a few years ago. It's a Taurus Tracker with a red dot scope. (AWSOME). Both of my boys shoot 17HMR's also. Both shoot rifles. I like the pistol because I can carry the caller,seat,lights,ect. Don't over look the pistol.... it's a tact driver out to 45-50 yards off a bench. If you are sitting and watching over someone else it's nice to have. I have taken coons,foxes,squirrels,rabbits, and ground hogs with it. My 223 doesn't see much sun light anymore.
