A deer in a Kent County was positive for Chronic Wasting Disease! It was in a Deer Breeding Facility! Which because of this the ENTIRE Lower Peninsula is on a baiting ban! The ban is in effect as of August 26th 2008! And if we want to supplemental feed we have to gain a permit to do so! And only from January 1st- May! It doesn't specify anything for food plots so i guess that is still ok! Here is a link to the law!

CWD is some nasty stuff! There were many deer taken out by it here in the county we live in....sad...what a waste!

I don't think I'd be upset about having to stop baiting for awhile if it meant doing what you could to protect the deer in your area...not that not baiting to ensure it won't spread there, but better to do what you can....

Yeah, Here in MD they made it so we cant bait deer anymore. Its a shame, All of the bucks we see are now leaving and arent getting as big. Such a disappointment. Especially when you have a large deer pop. and their competing for food.
