Fishing with the kids!

Postby Smitty8105 » Sat Jun 06, 2009 5:45 pm

Fished yesterday at the dam here in town for a few hours with the kids. They caught a ton of Bluegill and Rock Bass! I was using some of the smaller Bluegill the kids caught for bait. Caught 2 Small Mouth and had a big hit from something else but lost it.

It was a blast. Here in Michigan we are having a free fishing weekend the 13th and 14th of this month! The town i live in holds a fishing tourney every year for the kids. So hopefully we can catch what we did the other day and win this year!

Yeah, Maryland has one as well. Its were anyone can fish and you don't need a license, hence free fishing day...

Exactly! Every year the DNR picks a weekend and designate it Free Fishing Weekend! No licenses required anywhere in the state for any species! As long as it is in season and from June 1st- August some time all fish species are legal in Michigan on any body of water!
