ATTN Summit Users!

Hey guys,

Check your summit stands!! My buddy has his break on him last week. The older model stands have two "v" braces welded to the frame in the back near the tree. It broke there on my friend's and he almost fell, luckily he was able to climb down.

I checked mine and it was cracked 1/2 way through, probably would have broken soon.

If you have one check your welds, if you see it cracked call summit and they will send you a new one for free. Great service, they dont want anyone getting hurt!

Yeah Ed, I just broke my stand, and was looking at a Summit to replace it with. I'm glad you posted this.

I havent had any problems with my Summits Stnds and I own several of them. That all I will ever own. 2 Summit Viper 4X's , 1 Summit Open Shot, 4 Summit Hang-On's. Personally I think there the best built stands on the market.

Thanks for taking the time to give us a heads up. Summit makes darn good stands...but again so does Lone Wolf and Big Game... :[]:

Thanks again for the heads up HuntingEd. I have to ask also, have you seen any other stands that tend to have this cracking a breaking? Or have you just noticed this tendency for your summit stands? I just want to make sure the stands that I am using that aren't summit don't have the same problems. And I want to make sure that my other friends who have different stands don't have the same problems. Thanks again.

A hunting bud had his break... he called Summit and they replaced it with no hassles!

Good to know. I think I may have to switch over to those. I am hearing a lot of good things about them and their customer service. I don't like the reports of them breaking, but I would think all stands have that tendency when they are out in the elements all the time.
