The 3rd annual Maryland Hunting Expo was held at the Charles County Fair Grounds this past weekend and had the opportunity to be a vendor for the first time. The event had the big names you would expect at a show of this caliber including Stan Potts of North American Whitetail TV and Laura Francese, The Martin Girl herself.

The show was kicked off Friday night with a dinner banquet with many of the vendors in attendance and included a Q&A session with Stan Potts. It was a very personal meet and greet event with lots of mingling and story telling. The food brought in by Famous Dave's BBQ was great and the raffles and silent auctions capped off a great start to the weekend!

9am Saturday morning brought a line of attendees that stretched across the entire parking lot and down the hill. Hunters from all over the tri-state area showed up early for a chance to win a Benelli Shotgun or one of many other prizes. The crowd was steady throughout both days with a little something for everyone. The rock climbing wall and moon bounce entertained many kids throughout the weekend and the 3D Shoot put on by Tri-County Archers brought in quite a few hardcore Bowhunters.

For all the hunters who came out, and there were thousands, there were tons of great deals on all types of Hunting equipment from many of the local sporting goods shops including Freds Sports. If guided hunts was on your list, there were many choices including a fully guided Mid-River Outfitters waterfowl hunt, giant whitetails in Ohio with Sun Valley Outfitters and even an African safari outfitter.

The entertainment seemed endless throughout the weekend with great country music from the John Lusky band, “Rattling and Decoying Whitetails” seminars with Stan Potts, Duck and Goose calling contests and a meet and greet with “The Martin Girl” herself, Laura Francese.

Overall I think the show was very impressive for all who attended with plenty to see and do. I think Nio Productions has put on a great show for the 3rd year in a row so kudos to them for pulling this off again, and I look forward to attending next year.
